The brief
Help for Schools was commissioned to design a new school library for the Borough Academy project, with both individual and group study areas.
The space
The library occupies part of the former Borough Fire Station and retains original architectural features, so the design needed to work with the character of the building.
Design response
Acoustic treatment was incorporated to reduce noise and flexible tables allow the layout to adapt to different study needs. Furniture was supplied by VS Furniture.
